Champions Companion transforms your Michigan game day experience, making every visit to The Big House seamless, interactive, and unforgettable with just a tap.
Executive Summary
With the Champions Companion app project, I aimed to revolutionize the Michigan Stadium experience for fans by providing a comprehensive mobile solution that addresses all aspects of attending live events. By integrating features such as a seamless entry system, intuitive seat navigation, real-time game stats, in-app concession ordering, and a dynamic social engagement platform, the app ensures that every fan enjoys a hassle-free, engaging, and enriched game day experience. The project, meticulously designed in Figma, focuses on user-centered design principles to enhance functionality, usability, and overall fan satisfaction.
Problem Statement
Attending Michigan football games at The Big House, one of the largest stadiums in the world, presents unique challenges due to its sheer scale and the massive crowds it attracts. Fans often face difficulties such as long wait times for entry and concessions, problems finding their seats, and missing key moments of the game while stuck in queues or navigating the venue. There is a clear need for an integrated solution that streamlines these aspects of the game day experience, enhances fan engagement, and ensures that attendees can focus on enjoying the game and the atmosphere without logistical hassles. The Champions Companion app addresses these issues by offering a suite of features designed to optimize and enrich the fan experience from entry to exit.

Pain Points
I started off with identifying 3 major pain points with regards to Michigan Stadium and game days in Ann Arbor that I wanted my app to address:

1. With over 100,000 people flocking to the stadium every game day, the streets of Ann Arbor become overloaded with pedestrian foot traffic. Additionally, a lot of fans try to enter the stadium through the same few main gates, adding to the overall congestion.

2. Within the actual stadium concourse, concession lines can be extremely long, resulting fans missing key moments of games.

3. Michigan Football resources for fans like ticketing, safety/first aid, support, merchandise shopping, etc. are not unified. Currently, fans have to navigate many different web links to find the information they need.

With these pain points, in mind, I sought to create an app that unifies everything that a fan might need during a game day and address the general congestion that exists within the stadium today.
The next step was to map out the overall structure of my application, as shown below:

I decided to split the navigation bar for my app into four tabs: home, tickets, concessions, and profile, as this creates a logical flow for distinct pages to interact with. Also, from the home page, users would be presented with several quick links to access various features of the app that would be commonly used.

From the home page, users can access an events page, the fan cam/social wall, the stadium entry guide, live stats & replays, merchandise, safety & first aid information, and a live chat support.

Users could then navigate to the tickets page to view their ticket for today and any upcoming tickets they might have.

From the concessions page, users could order food ahead of time to skip waiting in line once they arrive at the stadium. A standard checkout flow follows.

From the profile page, users can view basic information about themselves, access settings, and log out.
With a clear structure defined, I got to prototyping in Figma. See flows below
